Did item destruction get buffed in 0.10?

It seems that now a single puff of flame/frost will destroy three scrolls/potions more often than not. I am thinking that smart play would be to never carry consumables in combat.

Maybe you're carrying more consumables than you used to? The more you carry, the more will get destroyed (and that's been the case for as long as I can remember, it didn't change in 0.10).

That could be it...I was carrying a lot when the mass destruction happened.

I concur, all the more because strategic consumables tend to be rarer, such that destruction of one (scroll of acquirement, gain strength) is unduly painful.

Getting Sticky Flamed at the wrong time would make me cry if I wasn't so incredibly macho :P

It certainly does make me think before I act. I'm actually more of a risk-taker involving my character's life than I am his possessions.

Still hurts though.

Another thing I've noticed is that after the early game, I hardly use tactical consumables anymore - potions of heal wounds and might just sit around my inventory, and I only very rarely use scrolls of teleportation or blinking. It almost seems useless to carry around so many items when I hardly use it and it just gets quickly destroyed.
