How picky are treasure troves?

So, I've got a treasure trove asking for +5, +6 demon whip. I also have a +2, +2 vampiric demon whip and lots of dusty scrolls of enchant weapon. However, I'm not sure whether that trove will accept an ego demon whip (if I enchant it properly) and I wouldn't like to waste my scrolls checking if it turns out it won't.

Re: How picky are treasure troves?

You just need to have the same base item type, with enchantment plusses at least equal to the ones asked.

Use your +9 Demon Whip of Electrocution

If he is a Maces & Flails user a +9 Demon Whip of Electrocution would be quite valuable.

Spoiler: bring a wand of disintegration and/or digging in with you. And/or the dig spell. And a scroll of recharging, just in case.

Since when do troves require you to dig to get to the treasure?

I have a trove asking for 2 potions of cure mutation. I currently do not have Rmut, and 2 two potions of cure mutation.

Could this be worth it?

(it also gives you a wand of digging for free so whatever)

First time I got that trove, the wand had 2 charges.

Well, I've had a simple room full of rings, including a few rather splendid randarts. It was on a Long Blade-user, so I didn't care about the whip. A rather rewarding encounter.

It could be, but I have definitely been disappointed in the results before, getting stuff that was either useless or unexceptional.

If I thought my risk of mutation was low (3 runer and something to protect against summoned neqoxecs) I'd go for it. Otherwise I'd wait till I had a spare.
