Let's Play: SpWz & MDBe

So I've been playing DCSS for a long time now (almost two years on and off). One of the most common situations I have when introducing this game to a friend is that - presuming they took the energy to learn some of the controls - they simply cannot seem to make it past the first couple floors. I had a friend who played for two weeks without once seeing the Ecumenical Temple!!!

Now, I've gotten good enough that I've forgotten what that feels like, so I decided I'd record a Let's Play with the focus being to get past the early game - and possibly up into the midgame (Lair:2 or so).

Thusfar I've made two videos for the two classes I'd consider - at least among the easiest - to play as. The MDBe and the SpWz. I'm looking for feedback as this is one of my first "Let's Play" style videos. Is my style okay? Is my voice irritating? Do I talk too much...too little...what?

Secondarily - are there key points I should be making about the game and/or getting started which I'm neglecting?

Finally - any requests ?!

You talk fine, but you definately talk too much I think what newbies need to know most is how/when to run (pillar dance, ogres), how to get things identified quick and when to leave things unided (singular early potions e.g.), stuff like that. In depth reasoning is not so much needed, just a quick explanation. You may even want to pick a really hard race/class combo, so danger points come up more often.

lol love let's plays. watching them is probably the nerdiest thing I do hahaha. Looks good so far very informative. I'll watch it through when I have time (exam monday!!) appreciate the work!

My pleasure - didn't know there was a thread of this. I'm actually making LOTS of these right now, as recording makes even the runs I die on seem more fun. So stay tuned to my youtube channel. I'll try to make posts to the forum too.
