Makhleb Casts from HP

While playing trunk, I noticed that Makhleb's abilities take HP now instead of MP, and, to my dismay, Deep Dwarves still pay the full cost. This seems to significantly nerf his abilities, as they can no longer be spammed without endangering oneself. However, some builds might be able to turn this to their advantage. Pure fighters, who have few MP and many HP come to mind, obviously. What about casters of robust races? A Naga could alternate spells and invocations for quite a while, especially with both recharging on kills. It might also be a good panic button for low-MP situations. Any other ideas on how to make the best of Makhleb's changes?

Minor/greater destruction taking HP instead of MP is pretty much a straight buff to DD of Makhleb (unless you are playing a DD of Makhleb who does not cast spells, which is probably a bad idea). You already had no reason to use destruction if you had the MP to use a spell instead; now at least they give you a bit of extra firepower when you have 0 MP.

The demons taking HP instead of MP you could argue either way.

That said DD of Mak does not have trouble gaining HP.

This, especially as Mak's HP-for-kills was buffed at the same time. Also, as damage shaving is applied to Mak's abilities, Minor Destruction is now free except for the hunger cost.
