What gives you mutations in Tomb?

Hey Guys,

Just clearing out tomb and have gained a couple of mutations.

What gives you mutations down there? I've noticed random contamination at points, and wasn't sure why. I didn't believe at the time it was because of spell miscasts (I didn't notice anything not working)

As far as I can see, nothing has malmutate down there. What happened?

You were mutated by contamination, probably from casting cblink and using haste potions.

Yeah I’m pretty sure I did use Cblink while I was hasted ... damn! And no more !mut in the game; with zot and OOFs to go yet...

Yeah any of spell failure, cBlink/haste/invis, and zot traps can add contam. Contam isn't common from zot traps but with death scarabs blitzing around all over the place they can trip a lot of effects on you if you're not careful.

Usually you can cBlink twice and still haste w/o getting to yellow contam, unless you're wearing a contam item. I often do that on W:3 before pitching a tent on the upstairs with tree form/fog/etc.

Haste hasn't given contamination ever since the spell got removed.
