TriCKy

Playing a TrCK and not expecting to win is actually a pretty freeing experience. Especially when Xom gives you mutations, and they're all good, and one of them is "You Regenerate". The TriCK is to still be happy and free when he takes them all away and sends demons after you. :p

Re: TriCKy

When you just don't care, you tend to do "foolish" stuff that you wouldn't do if you're playing carefully. And that's the sort of stuff that makes Xom happy, or at least happiER.
You fall off the wall. You have a feeling of ineptitude.

Indeed. Almost dying seems to be pretty hilarious.

Re: TriCKy

Even dying isn't so bad; Xom might even revive you.
TrCK:
Xom grants you an implement of some kind.
_Something appears at your feet!
4790 gold pieces {god gift}.

DsAr:
You blink. You feel slightly more hungry. Prince Ribbit hits you. You die...
"Hey, that's my toy!"
Xom revives you!

Re: TriCKy

TrCK are a pretty good choice for semi-beginners who want to try plenty of stuff without having to think through things too much. If you do well, you do well, and if you don't, Xom is amused. Win win. That lets a player move through the game and try stuff at a pretty swift pace.

Re: TriCKy

My last TrCK (yesterday) died to a hellion summoned by Xom on d:4. I wouldn't say that's fast progress. :( And I like CKs in general. :P

Re: TriCKy

Hellion on D:4? I've had fun like that.

  Code:
<Sequell> 1. elynaeandxom the Skirmisher (L1 MuCK), worshipper of Xom, slain by a Pit Fiend (created by the severe capriciousness of Xom) on D:1 (matt entry spirals) on 2011-10-01, with 20 points after 601 turns and 0:00:09.

I also won a TrCK who had Robust 3 in early game and Frail 3 towards late game. It was pretty hilarious.

No rMut *really* hurt.

That is one of the very worst mutation sets I have seen on any character. O_O

He can also smite the monster attacking you.
What made you happy today?

Re: TriCKy

Awesome XOM fact: Xom occasionally transforms stuff around you. Last time I happened to have a djinn with me for a while, he turned it into a rakshasha. :D Poor thing died a few thousand turns after that from me because it turned hostile to a scroll of immolation. *sigh*

Re: TriCKy

Xom once gifted me a rakshasa and a +8 randart sling of frost on D:1, and a good supply of stones. The next six floors were pretty fun with 5 slinging 20 damage invisible monsters permanently surrounding me.
I also once scummed a scroll of summoning till I had a permanent friendly Pit Fiend who then got turned into an Ice Fiend and then I died to cockiness and doing crypt without my demon buddy and forgetting my rF- when next to a sun demon hqgdnwmq3897/$)(=128ß

Re: TriCKy

I'm waiting for someone to make a thread about Tomb:3 so I can tell my awesome (ly stupid) Tomb:3 stories from my first win. :)
