I had a level with a single huge spiral vault which put me at the edge of death several times (almost always by pack of fast monsters like spark wasps, spriggan defenders and vampire knight bands) and I'd like to see what I should have done.
I see many options but probably there are more and I'd like to hear them:
1) skip the level
2) join Kiku instead of Nelemex, Kiku provides a snowball effect for such levels
3) start using might/agility
4) use darkness and manual exploration
5) use phial and wands
6) use escape deck
7) use evokable invisibility

5-7) Yes. Though I tend to overwhelm such situations with drawn Nemelex summons rather than draw from escape. Depends on your playstyle, really.

From the code you provided, you also had a stack of 4 resistance potions.
There is always something new to learn.

Impossible, the monsters come in packs and are fast or have blink close. I tried :( And while I am killing them to survive other monsters with normal speed get adjacent too. My stealth barely did anything at this point, too many monsters on the level and they are packed.

Please elaborate. Axes? No other weapon will allow me to survive shock sparks without rElec or multiple adjacent spriggan defenders.

1) Avoid this type of build because it has low AC. The change that made it so draconians could not wear any body armour has had me baffled, what a huge nerf it was since it happened. At the minimum play a race that can wear armour unless you're going heavy on transformations.
2) Use a god which makes you stronger up to this point such as Gozag or Oka, *or* be already using a god which actually impacts your survival much more than all others such as Makhleb (for life on kills), Zin (for sanctuary), or TSO (for life on kills and resists).
3) Using your potions strategically, yes, this is a good answer. They don't do you much good in a graveyard. It's not a complete answer however, because there is always an opportunity cost to use them. You may need them later. This is sometimes just a 20/20 hindsight answer.
4) Using darkness and manual exploration could cause as many issues as they cause since you'll have less space to retreat from fights you don't want. I feel darkness is most applicable to combat things like torment, smite by lowering the total risk on screen at one time. Yes, it's also helpful for stabbers, but stabbers are just problematic from the start (see #1)
5) Use phials and wands... see #3.
6) See #3 and #5, same thing.
7) Invisibility is strong when used at the right times against the right monsters. Maybe it would have worked, maybe not, maybe it would have saved you.. it's hard to know for sure in hindsight. You were fighting spriggans as well as spark wasps, they would have seen you. It's not really a good general answer, but a question of specific fights.

So with the general advice regarding your points out of the way, I see a few more things at a glace with this character. For starters, you had 25 int, so you were by far mostly a caster. It looked like you must have been relying on confuse and stabbing as your mainstay which only works up to a certain point. Deflect missiles was a good defensive spell you had loaded, but it just wasn't enough. If you're going to be a successful squishy, stabby, caster then you've either heavily invested in stealth and dex, or a variety of stronger escape options via spells. In your case, you didn't seem like you had all that many spells in your library. Something like conjuring a mephitic cloud could have been effective here. The two spells you had in library which could have kept you alive much longer were shadow creatures and controlled blink. Between those two spells, you probably would have been able to reset most fights. They are higher level but you had no armour and mostly Int, and had ring of the mage. Brilliance potions popped just before oh-crap moments can be very effective. Last but not least, perhaps you could have taken a different path through the dungeon before ending up where you were, although I didn't study your character well enough to say for sure.

Yes, you are right, I should have gone into other magic schools, stabbing stopped working at this point, even with silence and invisibility.
These days I play only fun (Ds and sometimes Dr) or easy characters and since I had already won DsEn I had no choice but to play DrEn :)

Yeah, a broad axe.

If you provide a .lst file I'm sure we can find all sort of better items. The one that sticks out is large shields. Were none generated?

I checked lst file, just plain +0 broad axes and +0 large shields (file exceeds max size of a message).

I'm not sure that Nemelex is worse than any of those gods.

The character died because that was an evil vault and Sandman/VAF decided to clear it using only a level 3 spell and nothing else. That is a bit strange. :D

Nemelex destruction cards are plentiful enough that you can afford to use them when you get spark wasp/spriggan packs. You have to recognize the threat immediately and start using them before you're getting mobbed though. The latter can also be killed if you can get into even a semi-choke for lamp of fire or lightning rod. Having stacked some escape cards can also save you here. Nem is a really strong god, top tier carry pick for 3 rune IMO, even after the nerf + major QoL improvement.

Spark wasps have poor MR. Confuse would almost certainly be ~ 50% vs them, even at only ~10 hexes. Each wasp you hit with that is another one that can't use its special blinkbolt attack...and you get stabbing bonuses against them which are strong with even a rapier.

Both spriggans and wasps can be confused via mephitic cloud. It's not in your library, but there's a good chance you could have bought it...it's in two starter books and several others. It's a must-memorize for stabbers IMO, holding significant utility in two of the S branches, elf, vaults, depths, and even vs most draconians in Zot (including purples, which are the only ones that resist confuse). As a bonus you have ignite poison to extend it a little more.

You also have a ton of enslavement, also great vs wasps.

Vampire knights are a bit more annoying to kill but they're less capable of straight up running you down too. So long as you lure and manage where you fight them I don't see why you couldn't just tab these to death with an elec rapier. From experience I know you can straight up tab gold dragons to death with a +9 elec rapier.

Another spell that would be worth picking up to use for these situations is BVC, buys a few extra moves to position vs fast enemies and hurts them.

Any of these should help keep your more valuable consumable use to a minimum. Had you lived I'd have suggested investing a little into summons (ideally mana vipers) to get distraction stabs against OOFs and the like when they ignore your other sources of stabbing. Yes, probably Mephitic Cloud was somewhere in a shop, I didn't bother to check any books hence my suggestion in GDD. Both Confuse and destruction deck don't work vs packs, I tried, probably deal 4 would be useful but again I was too greedy/lazy/stupid and hoped to get storm effect from a single card.
I had Elixir/Tomb etc. stacked but kept forgetting about them all the time.
BVC would be great indeed but I didn't know it was in my library until looking at the morgue file ;)
It's hard to survive when you mindlessly play without even looking at inventory/abilities, I know :(

Also the rElec spear you had in your inventory would've helped mitigate the damage from the spark wasps somewhat while you killed them with decks, I'm not sure it would've been enough to keep you alive, but it would've helped.

Decks are too slow at this stage, I didn't have any problems with 3-4 monsters no matter the type but they kept coming in much higher numbers. Eventually I was tired of teleportation.

How many wasps are we talking? I've done a fair few stabbers and these are usually doable encounters with confuse, even if you're getting 3-4 wasps. More than that and the 50% odds are too long/slow. Mephitic would still be excellent though since it's AoE, they're susceptible to poison, and monsters generally don't bother to avoid mephitic at all unlike other AoE spells.

And yes an rElec resistance stick would go a long way, even just to hold while disabling the enemies then switch to proper weapon to kill. For any setup that has an option to kill enemies w/o using weapon directly any random artifact weapon can be great for its resistance or evoke options (blink, invis, etc). Big intelligence boosts or MP +9 can make them attractive sometimes too.

I'm definitely with you on forgetting about options. I nearly lost a 15 rune attempt in tomb because I forgot I had revivification as a spell...at 8hp. I got lucky and didn't die, but would have regretted it greatly if luck didn't compensate my lapse in skill...

You can see I had 2 spark wasps, spriggan and yaktaur in view when died, that's at least 3 different packs and it was typical on that level. I actually cleared about 80% of the level including its centre and still died. Yes, wand of enslaving was probably the best option, I almost never use it. Probably the biggest takeaway is to press that internal panic/emergency button earlier. There are a lot more options that still work at/near full hp while the first monster or three is still on edge of LoS (or just discovered around corner) than there are when you have multiple things that can hit you next turn and you're under half health, and those extra options are less scarce.

It's hard because a momentary lapse in concentration can put you in really bad situations...need to find a pattern of routine reactions that works well for you.
