SpEn, the loot is too good + what to do?

[Sorry for bad English]
Hello. I am very distracted player, so I usually die very fast. And my favourite character is fragile SpEn (since 0.8 or so). And because of that I die fast, I have not enough experience in difficult questions like this:
In my current game, I caught good luck (like +3 dagger immediately on arrival), but now the weapon question is really hard: wielded
K - the +7 rapier of the Beginning (weapon) {pierce, Fragile rC+++ rN+ Int+2}

And, second question -- which is the better way to develop this character to stay alive?

The quick blade is better. The resistances on it are mildly helpful, but finding a ring or robe with a resistance on it should mitigate the need for them.

Chaos is a very powerful brand, that will occasionally kill you. As a result, it's not worth using if you want to win.

Okawaru is notably unreliable when it comes to gifts, taking him strictly for armour gifts isn't utilizing your god slot very effectively, generally speaking Oka is below average for this type of build, his active abilities are great for people who deal damage primarily with big weapons, however heroism and finesse aren't going to make short-blade melee a long term useful killing tool, and his abilities don't support your current killing style really much at all.

Continuing to stay alive long term requires you branch out slightly, Hexes are very very powerful, and can go a long way, but you'll need *something* else to reliably kill some later game stuff, or sufficient tools to avoid having to kill stuff, there's lots of different options and there's no one specific one that's way better. I would recommend: being able to kill things at range (conjurations, or if you want to exploit a little benefit from Okawaru, pick up and train a decent sling, he'll supply you with ammo, possibly a better sling, and heroism and finesse will help make slings less terrible) or using summons (Running away is something that spriggans are very good at, running away while dropping summons behind you to beat on things and cover your escape is effective, but really terribly boring and annoying) or possibly necromancy (undead are just differently flavored summons) it all depends on what other spellbooks you find.

Your English is not bad at all, it's quite readable and understandable, not native-speaker level, but certainly not bad.

Siegurt, thank you very much! I thought and I'll stick with rapier for a while, just for a case if Ice cave will be somewhere nearby before I'll found at least one pip of rC.
About Oka: since previous post he gifted me another runed quick blade (irony!) and +2 hat of Int (which can effectively replace Int property on soon-will-be-broken rapier -- so much intelligence in game hints me to go more conjurer-like way, speaking of something else than hexes). Oh, and buckler. Actually I think I'll betray him, if I'll can survive long enough. And I think his abilities will have great synergy with song of slaying, if all will go wrong.
For ranged I already found fulminant prism, what is amazing too in my opinion (I don't like both summons and necromancy). And robe of the Archimagi.

Quickblade is indeed better, but I disagree with saying chaos dagger is bad- I think it’s fantastic as a spriggan. Because you’re so fast, if you berserk or haste something, you can just run away, and turning something invisible has no effect. Since other chaos effects include *irresistible* petrify, banish and paralysis, it’s a great hexer’s tool if you can enchant it up.

Otherwise, yeah, you should definitely branch out to take advantage of Oka, I’d say a ranged weapon. Sling is probably best.

EDIT- I would just focus on support spells or a couple summons (lightning spire) with your high Int, Oka is a waste of most of the game otherwise.
Song of Slaying is garbage.

Hmm, thank you. In the ideal case, I'd rebrand one of quick blades again and again to get chaotic brand on it.
Ranged weapons are also something that I don't like very much, so... when it will be relatively safe to abandon Oka? I'd probably go Lugonu (corrupted temple), Dith or Ash.

Indeed, there was Ice cave on Lair:1 :-D
Meleed three Ice statues to death and crumbled rapier. Oka's gift turned up plain +5 quick blade, and I rebranded +9 to lousy protection. Hmm, maybe I should use vampiric dagger instead?

Ash and Dith are both good for stabbers. Lugonu doesn’t specifically synergize with that playstyle (Banish is a single target MR check just like all your hexes), but provides a good panic button.
If you can handle Elf/Depths monsters you can abandon Oka. As a spriggan if you can flee and kite the summons one at a time.

Don’t go for vamp short blades, they don’t deal enough damage to make the healing worth it.
I would not depend on branding the quickblade into chaos. If the wiki is accurate in this case, there’s a 2% chance to get chaos brand.
If you want chaos, enchant the dagger.

Other chaos effects include: Healing the monster, Duplicating it, raising it as a hostile zombie, and causing a random miscast (which can cause a bunch of explosion damage to you, or all kinds of other nasty things)

A chaos dagger no doubt can make certain fights easier, and it's beneficial effects are indeed useful and powerful, allowing you to make short work of fights you would need otherwise some other tool to beat, however, it *can* kill you, it's not very likely, but in a game where death is permanent, you only have to roll badly once at just the wrong time to die from a dagger of chaos. Additionally by the time you face things which are magic immune, you have plenty of opportunity to obtain such tools. Hasting or duplicating an orb of fire, pan lord, or ancient lich will have a good chance of killing you before you get out of LOS. The subset of things that are both unable to be handled with traditional hexer tools *and* are safe to hit with a chaos dagger are really really slim.

I definitely wouldn't waste enchant scrolls on it (unless you literally have nothing else to do with them), as enchantment virtually nothing to improve your odds of using it effectively (dagger stabbing isn't improved by enchanting, and your odds of rolling a useful effect of chaos are constant)

That being said, chaos *is* very powerful, and the odds of getting a bad result and dying are pretty small, so if you're willing to risk the small chance of just having to start a new game, feel free, it's definitely kind of fun, it's just not technically optimal for your win chances.
