where to go?

I have a +8 vampiric executioners axe, the +8 flail of the tent, and a total AC of 27, I just completed lairs 1-6, should I go through the sub branches, or should I go through dungeons 12-13 to better arm myself?

Re: where to go?

Doing Orc after Lair is normal.

Post a character dump if you want more useful advice.

Re: where to go?

d11 -> lair -> orc -> d15 -> lair branches is my standard order. Sometimes I change it up due to circumstances. The relative difficulty of each of these places changes based on your character. Sometimes I'll leave orc for later if I don't have enough MR to not get paralyzed by orc sorcerers or if I run into a dangerous unique.

Re: where to go?

Sometimes I do d:15 after branches because the vaults for the entrance to depths and vaults can be suprisingly dangerous.

You provide essentially no information about your character or the randart (although I seriously doubt it is as good as the axe) but if you can use axes sensibly, there is little prospect of arming yourself better than a +8 vampiric executioner's axe, so I wouldn't do anything in order to better arm yourself.

Re: where to go?

In addition to the advice of "Post your character dump if you want real advice," just so you know, there are two types of artifacts in this game: Random and fixed. Some artifacts like the Lajatang of Order are fixed: They always have the same stats, period. Most artifacts, however, are randomly generated - they have "some stuff, good and bad" on them. So when you say you have a "flail of the tent," we have no idea what that means without more information. It could be a flail that corrodes you when hit, gives MR--, and 10 strength, or it could be a flail with an electric brand, rF+++, and rC+. Or whatever. All the more reason to post a full character dump when asking for advice.

Re: where to go?

So is it "a butcher named Thrain who has been damned," "someone who has been damned for butchering Thrain," or "someone who butchers a damned Thrain"?
I am not a very good player. My mouth is a foul pit of LIES. KNOW THIS.

Re: where to go?

I read it as a butcher of the damned born in Thrain.
