Almost all classes are viable for Na. Play one of the recommended classes if you like.

Advice specific to Nagas is mostly in the early game:

(a) Use poison spit a lot. If you move backwards after using poison spit at max range, you typically get another shot before you need to melee the monster. So pretty much any encounter can start with two free attacks.
(b) Train a bit of stealth, because it's cheap and useful. Don't make too much noise.
(c) Try to explore manually and near stairs.

In the later game, play like you'd do normally. Though Nagas do well in light armour, don't be afraid to wear good heavy armour -- the deformed body mutation is not that important.

There's a post around of someone who streaked NaWn^Goz. It was a lot of Nagas.
All trained only stealth until 8ish then used axes, big shields and Gozag. In the beginning use poison spit as much as possible and avoid difficult fights, recognize threats, teleport early, etc.
