I want to do the Snake Pit for my second rune, and I have done the first floor of the Snake Pit, but I'm concerned about the Shock Serpants since I don't have rElec. Should I continue trudging through the Vaults hoping for rElec? Or should I take my chances with the Shock Serpents and go ahead and work on the Snake Pit? I think this game is pretty promising- I'd love to add "Beat the game as a demonspawn" to my record. Thanks for the help!

I wouldn't stress too much about the missing rElec. You have a lot of wands and consumables. There aren't that many shock serpents and if you hit them at range with something, they won't always even get to hit you.

If you look at my inventory, you'll see that I have a trident with rC+, and I also have a ring of protection from cold. If I really need cold protection, I can wear both of those in an emergency. Even just the ring makes me not vulnerable, which is usually enough when dealing with minor cold damage.

I would have trained evo at least some.


Yeah, that might have been a mistake. I was so focused on getting my weapon skills (both pole arms as well as slings), my shield skill, as well as my fighting skill up to snuff I neglected evocations. I'll have to think about how I would do it differently if I did it over, but it makes sense with having the wands I have that I would have trained evo at least a little bit. Thanks for the input.

I am not sure the character gets much from evocations, at least vs single target. Finesse with sling is better than any of those wands

As a said 'no good rc+': swapping to a +1 trident when your main form of damage is a +10 broad axe is extremely bad (I'd probably rather fight most of monsters with cold attack with rc-).
The rc+ ring usually is a extremely good source, but you have a a +6 slay and a +4ac ring. This means against monster with cold attack you lose at best at least 4 ac.

I'm pretty positive that at this point of the game there is at least one normal armor which gives against every enemy a better ac+ev ratio, and much more so against cold enemies.

Your skill training is good, but probably sacrificing a point of two of fighting skills (for example) for 5ish of evo would have been better because it would have given some different tools to handle different situation - e.g. wand of clouds against dangerous pack, scattershot against enemies with very high EV and so on.

Well yes, generally speaking finesse + ranged is OP. Still, those wands are extremely strong ways\panic buttons to deal against specific situations: e.g e.g. when you can't afford to miss iceblast\scattershot are better against an high EV target if you really need to finish him quick, such as black mamba in Lair or a boggart in vaults.
