I have 2 quickblades, 1 artifact(+9) and 1 unbranded (+7) (Thanks to 2 nice scrolls of acquirement)
I have been trying to train necromancy, it's at 10.8.
Kiku is ready to give me his gift.

Which gift should I go for (I am leaning towards the brand, but I don't know if it's the best option)?
Should I get bigger armor?
Should I start using the blade immediately?
Should I focus on necromancy after taking the gift?
I imagine that the Vaults will be an a-hole to stabbers, what should I do if I reach it? Should I go for HELL or abyss instead?
Any spells I should be on the lookout for?
Any other advice I should be following?

I would take the brand. Quickblade of pain is an absolutely insane weapon. Imo enchant the gloves and steam dragon scales, memorize corpse rot, memorize agony as soon as possible since you can probably cast it already (amnesia slow and corona if you can). Train a lot of fighting and some dodging. You can consider going for simulacrum later on once your defenses aren't garbage. Getting ozocubu's armour would be pretty great if you find it.

E: actually the draining qb is good enough that going for necronomicon is not totally unreasonable, but you shouldn't be trying to get anything from it castable for a long time imo.

quickblades are really hard to win the game on, helps to find elec but then a lot of monsters resist that now. Pain brand can be really strong, especially if you are only going for three or so runes, might as well go for it and see how you do. The draining QB is going to do a good job as well, and both will suck against undead opponents especially anything with high AC (bone dragons fx).

If you can find a good demon blade, might want to get that to min delay as well, I find that can help a Ko.

One of your biggest worries is simply going to be getting into melee with tough monsters when you have low kobold hitpoints and your AC is bad. Definitely try to get some more AC. Stabbing is pretty awesome but yuo cant do it all the time and as floors get more and more crowded, it gets harder and harder to pull off.

Alright, I'm prolly not gonna amnesia one of those (They help in luring parts of a big group.).
I'm really not feeling like playing a pure caster, the game hasn't been kind with giving good spellbooks lately and the spells in the necronomicon don't feel worth it.
Dodging and fighting, got it. Should I stop training my stealth?

I saw that on the final level of lair (and the D on which the lair entrance was). Large groups suck. In both of the mentioned cases, I had to fight packs of death yaks and elephants. I did kill them all when I realized that they aren't resistant to poison, but high MR sucks.
Vaults are going to be hard.

I've been thinking about getting inner flame for controlling crowds, should I do it?

You've cast Animate Dead a total of like three times. You want to make a lot, a lot, a lot of zombies. If there are big groups, have Kiku airdrop some corpses and zombify them and then when they start killing monsters, zombify those corpses. The horde will take care of the crowd. And most other threats you might face. There are not many things you can't solve by just adding more zombie buddies.

Death Channel is useful if you also want ghostly clones of vanquished monsters to help out. Which you do. Simulacrum is also pretty damn strong; IIRC you get more than one per corpse and they hit like trucks made of ice. Agony rules for single tough targets.

All your best options work better with higher Necro skill -- you get more/better corpses from Kiku and your pain weapon works better. So there's decent return on training that to a pretty high number, even if you don't find more necro spells.

Don't get inner flame.

If you haven't pain-branded your quick blade, do that now and use it to kill dudes.

Also, you can get (lower quality, but non trivial) stabs in when things are distracted and attcking your undead allies, which is helpful against things with high mr.

Inner flame is great with undead, it is just incompatible with having a large army and/or stabbing. You can inner flame your one remaining ally and he will explode in firy death if the bad guys kill him, but if you are next to him you will take a ton of damage, and your allies will turn on you if they are damaged by the explosion (but not if they just walk into the clouds), so you have to be super careful about using it. The explosion is also loud so it will wake stuff up and attact bad guys, so dont stick around if there is any unexplored space anywhere nearby. Even with the drawbacks, zombie bombs are one of my favorites though, does crap tons of damage.

I used to die a lot in Orc, back when I just walked right in and picked a fight. Luring and taking your time, clearing all the surrounding area, and again luring targets well out of the center (find some random choke points) are all especially rewarded in the open layout of Orc combined with the uniques and higher threat spell-caster/melee specialist monsters interspersed in that popcorn crowd which includes branded melee attacks, confusion casting wizards, and smiting priests.

Now I prefer to do it before Lair, for the fun and the reward of knowing what is in the shops before I drop all my Lair XP into my skills.

Yeah, it was avoidable.
I could've repeated what I did for the Lair's final level, but my brain derped and decided to go for the group fighting thing. It was going swimmingly until I got 2 teamed by an ice devil and a high priest.
Lessons for the next time, I guess.

I find Orc dangerously unpredictable, like getting killed by a summoned Sixfirhy in two turns, that sort of thing.

You need to break LoS with the orc sorcerers and high priests, never fight more than two at a time, and be able to kill them very quickly either from the edge of LoS (ranged/conjurations) or when they step around a corner following you to your kill-hole (melee). If they get a good demon summon off while you are fighting them and they aren't very close to dying themselves, you need to be leaving. Same thing if you are engaged with a knight or warlord (or a ton of popcorn) and can't focus on or even reach the caster. Orc2 is one of the areas I will often use my first few teleport scrolls for this reason, but then again I do the area before Lair.. Still, this is a good reason to clear the entire surrounding floor before taking on the vaults near the central shops.
