Mid-late game banish effectiveness

Trying out the AK background & been having fun with banish ability in early / mid game. Just wondering if it continues to be effective later in the game if you keep up with invocations? How high should invocations go to keep effective. I'm playing a hill orc so with inv at +3, it is pretty easy to level it.

Banish is always useful through the game, there's always some dangerous enemy type with low MR in pretty much every branch(e.g. shock serpents,spark wasps,entropy weavers,vault wardens/sentinels.). As a HO you can easily get 20+, there's no real need to stop training Invo. I typically just train the combination of Fighting/Invo/Dodging/Armour in the mid-game and just leave it on until the end of the game when I play a HO with an invo-heavy god.

High-MR dangerous enemies are a problem, but can be taken care of with vulnerability scrolls if you have no other option. I usually do this strategy on uniques or silly stuff like Elf blademasters with berserk amulets.

Also, you should have Invocations as your highest skill anyway for the cool skill titles.

I am skeptical that it makes sense to skill invo much past the old cap of 10.5 on banish spellpower. Late game lugonu play is all about corrupt and to a lesser extent escape to abyss. I have no idea what the effect of invo is on corrupt other than that it reduces the fail rate. I suspect there is no other effect. Meanwhile, top tier threats past lair frequently have a lot of MR and spamming banish at them costs a lot of piety. This suggests to me that invo investment past 10 or so is essentially wasted.

Wiki says you get more abyss monsters with more invo, in-game description says you get a bigger area with more invo. Glancing at the source, it seems that more invo gets you more "corruption seeds". It looks like each corruption seed will be within 4 squares of the player, so the area doesn't get much bigger. The "more monsters" thing will be more obvious, because each seed makes its own monsters*. The number and duration of monsters per seed does not depend on power.

* I don't know why the in-game desc talks about size rather than monster count, it might be desc oversight or a bug.
