If I am playing a straight fighter (no magic skills), do I have any advantage in cursing jewellery? Does cursing jewels increase the boost to my already boosted weapon, armour & fighting skills?

You will gain piety faster the more bound you are. Also, binding jewellery boosts Evocations as well. I don't think your other skills get any additional benefit.

Evo is great on a 'straight fighter.' But unless you are following a challenge conduct you should be able to cast spells (even in plate) if you have a remotely reasonable amount of strength and most if not all of your jewelry bound. With ash the opportunity cost of learning spells goes down so much it is pretty silly not to get some imo.
