Distortion brand

Have a lvl 27 DD plowing through Zot now. Currently using an artifact battle axe, +6 flame. Also have a +9 executioner axe of distortion from an aquirement. Lvl 22 in ax skill. How does distortion brand do against the orb vault nasties?

PS, when eating flesh from a killer known, instead of saying it tastes terrible, it should say it tastes funny...

Distortion is super powerful but so annoying it is hardly worth it. In zot you will banish some things and kill a lot of things w/ the xaxe's rediculous base damage + disto's electrocution-esque irresistable damage. However, you will also blink enemies into the path of your retreat and teleport hardy monsters (oofs) the instant before killing them, causing the 'safe' area behind you to be more dangerous than usual unless you meticulously retreat to clear the path back. I would rebrand the xaxe, lament that i had spent so much xp on axes, and probably end up using the battleaxe anyways.

If only I had a rebrand scroll. I do have 2 aquirements left. Do I try for another weapon, or go for the resist mutation amulet?

That amulet doesn't exist anymore. Last time was 0.17.

Disto ex axe is the dream.

I'm all about a disto exe axe. Of course don't use it if you're using rods or launchers for ranged.

It worked well. Win #9, and only a couple days after my last win. Two things I didn't like about that axe, first as a DD of Mak, i need to kill things to heal, and banishing stuff doesn't count so I had to use my wand more. Second, teleporting summoner a instead of killing them leaves all their summons, and no way to eliminate them other then by attacking them. Overall though, it worked well
