This is a generalized follow-up to the comment I made on the Dog Race thread. Would you please check this for accuracy? All-caps are major effects, regular text is minor effects.

Strength: REDUCES ARMOUR EV PENALTY. Increases damage of weapons and of unarmed and auxiliary attacks. Increases chance that auxiliary attacks will occur. Increases SH (except bucklers).
Intelligence: INCREASES SPELL POWER AND SUCCESS. Reduces spell hunger.
Dexterity: INCREASES EV, SH AND STEALTH. Increases accuracy of weapons and of unarmed and auxiliary attacks. Increases chance that auxiliary attacks will occur.

Fighting: INCREASES HP. Increases damage and accuracy of weapons, unarmed, and auxiliary attacks.
Dodging: INCREASES EV.
Armour: INCREASES AC. Reduces Armour EV Penalty, much less effectively than Strength.
Stealth: AVOID WAKING MONSTERS; MAKE CHASING MONSTERS LOSE TRACK OF YOU; increases stabbing bonus.

Weapons Skills: REDUCES ATTACK DELAY. Increases weapon damage and accuracy. Increases stabbing bonus. Throwing also INCREASES NEEDLE SUCCESS.
Unarmed: INCREASES ATTACK DAMAGE; REDUCES ATTACK DELAY. Increases attack accuracy. Increases chance of an offhand punch and its damage.

Spellcasting: INCREASES SPELL LEVELS AVAILABLE. INCREASES MP. Increases spell power and success. Reduces spell hunger;
Spell Skills: INCREASE SPELL POWER AND SUCCESS (4x as effective as Spc for single-school spells, 2x as effective for double school, 1.33x as effective for triple-school)

Invocations: INCREASES POWER AND SUCCESS OF MANY GOD-GRANTED ABILITIES (some gods don't care about Invo, or care about something else); increases MP half as well as Spc
Evocations: INCREASES POWER AND SUCCESS FOR ITEM ABILITIES; increases MP half as well as Spc

Weapon skill also increases stabbing damage, to the same extent as Stealth skill.

Strength and Dex increase the damage of certain forms.

And the combined total also increases the odds of using an aux attack.

Strength also reduces AEVP (armour penalty that affects melee and missile accuracy and spell success as well as EV, and is also reduced by armour skill) and increases SH with shields and large shields. It increases unarmed and aux attack damage just like it increases weapon damage; dexterity increases unarmed and aux attack accuracy the same way.
"Spell accuracy" is not a thing. Spell power and the amulet of inaccuracy effect are the only things that affect spell accuracy; int only affects spell accuracy in the sense that it increases spell power. Saying it increases "spell power and spell accuracy" is misleading.
I don't see what you mean by "increase net success". Throwing increases the accuracy of nets that you throw, since throwing increases the accuracy of everything you throw, but it doesn't affect nets in any other way.

Fighting increases accuracy and damage for unarmed and aux attacks as well as weapons.

Invocations only affects god abilities for some gods. Deliver Corpses uses Necromancy skill instead, for example.

The more strength you have, the more strength you are likely to lose from Trog's wrath :)

Thank you minmay, that was exactly the sort of feedback I was hoping for. No time to edit the OP now, but I will.

And edited. I broke out Unarmed as a separate topic since it's so different.

I would change "INCREASES ATTACK DAMAGE; Reduces attack delay" to "INCREASES ATTACK DAMAGE; REDUCES ATTACK DELAY". With high UC speed becomes more important.

VeryAngryFelid wrote:I would change "INCREASES ATTACK DAMAGE; Reduces attack delay" to "INCREASES ATTACK DAMAGE; REDUCES ATTACK DELAY". With high UC speed becomes more important.

I did this based on how speed goes from 10 to 5 over 27 skill levels, whereas all other weapon types would go from hypothetical 18 to 5 in 26. I can certainly see that reducing the denominator in a damage/auts calculation is more effective from 6 to 5 than 10 to 9, say, but is it ever fair to say that US skill increases speed as much as it increases damage? I lack experience with UC, so that could very well be.

[EDIT] I made this change as well

If you get this put together in its entirety, I'd suggest formatting it correctly and submitting it as a patch to the manual or the in-game help. Neither offers very good information on this topic.

Thanks, archaeo. I have to recognize that I'm not an expert, but when the consensus is that it's done, I'll be happy to submit it.

Strength breaks out that it increases SH except for bucklers, why doesn't dex break out large shields? Aren't large shields based entirely off strength? Do they check your dexterity as well?

Skipping Shields skill was pure oversight. How does, "INCREASES SH; DECREASES SHIELD EVASION PENALTY" sound?

Str helps gain SH with large shields and normal shields not bucklers, Dex with all three including large shields. Neither Str nor Dex reduce Sheild evasion penalty.

Also this may be based on my semi-unusual play style, but I typically use very high strength characters who transmute away their body armor - I'd say that strength increasing melee damage should probably be at least as important as reducing the armor penalty, if not more? In other words, should increasing melee damage be in all caps?
