Dropping some of an item.

Okay, newbie question:

What commands do I use to the software to drop a specific number of an item I'm carrying, or pick up a number of something on the floor. For example, I have 30 honeycombs, but I only want to pick up and carry off 5 of them.

Hit 'd', then type in a number, then hit whatever corresponding letter there is for the item you're dropping, and hit enter. Should work.

Press d, then a number than the letter.

For the record, the same mechanic works if you want to pick up a certain number of items from one heap. However, you have to enter the pickup menu for this to work (by pressing "," or "g" and then "?").
