Do they do d(base damage), or d(base damage+ammo damage)?

Slings do(and throwing weapons although those have no launcher, and instead 'base damage' depends on skill-I forget the formula though), arrows and bolts have no base damage.

Well, base damage+ammo damage both contribute for slings, but not for bows/crossbows because their ammo does not have damage numbers.
