You mean for high-EV demon lords? Conjure and Sticky Flame are good but they do fall off a bit when dealing with the & contingent

Not sure what Reptisaurus meant, but in general, these two spells have some of the best total damage:MP spent ratios out there, which is probably more important when you can't consistently escape fights and have no way to recharge MP. The EV bypassing part is secondary when it comes to their power. But you can kill a yak pack with 2-3 casts of conjure flame in a corridor, no other book background can do it that efficiently with damaging conjurations.
