Mutation roulette advice

DrFi (acid) of Gozag in .18. I still need to do Shoals, V;5, and Zot. I have +9 vamp laj, also the laj of order for oofs.

  Code:
Current mutations:
You have sharp toenails.                    (useless, wearing boots)
You tend to lose your temper in combat.     (Current suppressed by Amulet of the four Winds.  Previously was staying at very hungry status)
Scrolls take you a little longer to read.   (ouch)
Your flesh is heat resistant.               (I have rF++ from gloves also)
Your system is resistant to poisons.
Your natural rate of healing is unusually fast.
You are covered in fur (AC +1).

Available:
a - (carried) 14 potions of cure mutation {!q!q}
b - (carried) 16 potions of mutation {!q!q}
c - (carried) 2 potions of beneficial mutation {!q!q}

In what order should I use these to maximize my results?

Re: Mutation roulette advice

I would cure the scrolls one, quaff the beneficials and then finish the game. With Draconian and that weapon should be cakewalk. Never done mutation roulette (I'm so boring), maybe someone else will chime in.

Re: Mutation roulette advice

BTW, it isn't a roulette anymore, because the chance to win is too generous (you never have 50% chance with a roulette, or the casino would not make enough money. Even if you point on all the red tassels, there's still the three green tassels to keep you below 50%.). More like coinflip.

I would go for minimum risk. Blurry eyes is a big deal, especially if you don't have cBlink. So I agree with moocowmoocow, drink cure until you cure blurry eyes. Option B is quaffing potions of mutation instead and stop when you have only mutations that you like or you can tolerate through playstyle or equipment. Anyway, blurry eyes need to go.

Re: Mutation roulette advice

The chance of a beneficial mutation was always greater than 50%. But not every mutation is equally impactful, so that doesn't actually mean you "win" on average.

Re: Mutation roulette advice

Chug your mutation pots to try and stack a bunch of muts and get rid of blurry vision/berserkitis, stop when you've hit a bunch of muts you can live with.
If somehow you still end up with bad ones you cant stand after all those pots, quaff cure mutation till the bad ones are gone, then chug the bene muts.

Basically, you know you're going to get good ones out of bene mut, so save them for last
