Worship Fedhas, evaporate water with Sunlight.

(You also don't need it to open Hells in recent versions.)

Would ice form let me pick it up via swimming? I seem to remember on an octopode PC that items dropped on deep water tiles are still recoverable.

IIRC no, because ice form just walks on top of water. I think statue form might though??

The only way for a not mf/op/Grey Dr to get items fallen into deep water is fedhas.
