The sword only makes noise during a fight. Use it if you don't have better weapon to use.

Pro-tip : in case of high tension, it becomes the Screaming sword and does sonic damage to everyone in LoS... Not very powerful imho but very fun... Try it on Vaults:5

I did have a game with the gong and the singing sword. Believe it or not, I ended up dying to a horde of enemies.

When I won with gong shield I would always go down all 3 stairs and literally just kill everything in the game at one stair then when I started seeing that GONG! Wasn't waking up any more enemies I would explore
