Trog in Crypt/Tomb?

How do you play a trog worshipper there? Won't your piety go down quickly there?

Re: Trog in Crypt/Tomb?

Both are full of spellcasters, so piety isn't a problem unless maybe you're a Deep Dwarf.

More than piety, you lose food, although you probably have enough of a package not to worry about it.

Re: Trog in Crypt/Tomb?

Trog likes when you kill spellcasters and magic users. So piety should not be a problem. Lure enemies when you can and bring some food (bread, meat or fruits). Lots of food, and scrolls of remove curse (mummies can be very very annoying). I succeed with a minotaur of Trog. It was not specially easy but with good tactics and stuff, it's doable.

Re: Trog in Crypt/Tomb?

Trog also appreciates regular kills, so I don't know why you'd think your piety would go down. It's not like trog piety goes down in lair, and there's usually no spellcasters there!

Use regen often. Use berserk when it's only a few foes, not against packs. Use BoA when in trouble, three uses is usually good enough.

Re: Trog in Crypt/Tomb?

Trog should give piety for all greater-than-plant-intelligence monsters. If that's too big of a buff, disallow animals as well. Come to think of it, that's a good debuff for him.

If it does dip down (it won't) just like, go do a different, more demony branch like Hell or Pan for a bit until it doesn't.

There are spellcasters throughout crypt and literally all over the damn place in tomb, you aren't going to suffer net piety loss via decay in those branches.

Yeah, we used to have silent spectres in the Crypt but they were removed because all the dangerous monsters there are spellcasters so silent spectres did more good than harm.
