Looking for a monster exp table

Hi, does anyone know where I can get the list of XP per each monster?
Even if it's in the git codebase, it should be more or less centralized, no?

Thanks in advance

This is badly out of date.

There are approximately 0 people editing the wiki, mostly due to the unfortunate policy of "you have to personally email the admin to get an account".
It's too bad.

Most of the code the game uses to calculate experience granted on monster death is located in these places: mon-util.cc line 2178, mon-death.cc line 299, and the entirety of mon-data.h .

When calculating the actual amount of experience to reward at monster death, the game checks the listed table values for the monster in the HD, avg_hp_10x, exp_mod, speed, and gmon_use entries in mon-data.h, runs them through some checks, and multiplies the final result based upon some pretty arbitrary things like whether their spell list includes any of a few selected high level spells, whether the monster class has fast regen, whether the monster is slow and not a spellcaster and can't use items, whether it's a zombie, whether it's a slime creature, whether it's a starcursed mass, whether the resulting XP granted would be too large, whether you're supposed to get half XP from pacifying it, whether friendly monsters have dealt damage to it, and whether or not it's a tuesday.

In short: Crawl's XP determination is a mess, and it's probably best viewed through the lens of an irc bot that abstracts away the code for you like chequers suggested.

Re: Looking for a monster exp table

I question the need for any player to know the exact XP-values of specific monsters.

"Curiousity" is a fair and valid reason for interest.

I question the need for questioning the desire for information. I guess there's a lot of people here who really believe "Ignorance is bliss"
