Leda's Liquifaction

How does one use this spell? It strikes me as the movement analogue of Silence, except it slows instead of paralyizing. I can see using it to slow the approach of melee enemies when you are a ranged user, in effect kiting them without having to move yourself, but it feels like it doesn't last long enough and then you're slowed and they aren't. What am I missing?

Re: Leda's Liquifaction

Use it against approaching melee monsters. Ideal for magic casters or ranged attackers that can blink or teleport when reached.
Slightly annoying for melee players.

It has two mechanics. Slowing movement and interrupting melee attacks made.

Possible tactical use:
*Casting any spell that changes how a monster moves normally. Hexes and confusion status for example. discord...
*Casting spells that move you or allow you to move somewhere else when reached.
*Casting spells that translocate monsters.
*Worshiping Dith could make monsters hit even less often in melee.
*Use with flying summons. Butterflies, imps, haunt, monstrous menagerie, etc.
*Octopode contricting.

A lot of spells seem to work well with it as long as you can get away if required.

Best thing to do is go into wizmode make yourself level 27 with 27 in all skills, have whatever spells you want learned. spawn a bunch of monster in a desired terrain, and have fun seeing how spells work together.

Re: Leda's Liquifaction

A human moves faster than a speed-10 monster when both are in the leda AoE.

It's mostly not necessary since cause fear is better (and you'd never use it outside of AM), but it's still worth learning.

Do you get any bonuses on the liquefied floor as a merfolk?
