This is probably a painful noob question but what should I do after finishing lair, I'm a MiFi

Orc, then go down to D13 or so, then Lair branches (not Slime).

Why not finish Dungeon before Lair branches?

Depends on the character, but I find the Depths monsters at the very bottom of D can be a little too much sometimes. If I run into one of them I go do the S branches first.

Lair -> D:12 -> Orc -> D:15 -> S:3 -> maybe other S:3 -> get rune -> Vaults:4 -> maybe get second rune -> Depths:5 -> get three runes -> Zot

What does he mean by other S:3

S stands for Snake/Spider/Swamp/Shoals. So he'd sometimes clear three floors of the second Lair sub branch before getting a rune.

Note that it's usually perfectly fine to do D:15 -> S:4 (get rune) -> other S:4 (get second rune) -> Vaults:4 -> Depths:5 etc.

Abyss and Slime in whichever order first. Then it doesn't really matter. Kiku, TSO or undead characters would probably do Tomb next. Pan or Hells in what order, depends on character.

Yeah me too, but I always at least try to finish the dungeon first. It seems like there's a better chance of shops in the dungeon than snake, and I sure as hell don't want to do shoals.

Sometimes I have to back off and save D:15 for after I get some runes, but I always at least make an attempt to finish the dungeon.
