CeBe - staff or glaive?

I found a glaive and quarterstaff both early on. Is it worth it to just keep the staff and hope trog gifts a good lajatang or go with the polearms since I don't have many other skills to train as a be?

3) bows
Trog will gift ammo and better launcher, and ranged >> melee.

I would pick polearms because as a Berserker you can train your weapon skill to a high level easily, and bardiches have higher damage and reaching. Lajatangs have better brands. Better brands are not worth the lower base damage when you're a berserker in my opinion.

Re: CeBe - staff or glaive?

A +0 glaive is decisively better than a +0 quaterstaff, and also a potential end-game right now in your inventory (even with Trog you're not guaranteed to get an upgrade with a qs very soon). You should choose it.
As a side benefit, polearms are even better with Ce because they can easily kite if really need.
As you're a Be getting bow\xbow\throwing too may be a sensible choice.
screw it I hate this character I'm gonna go melee Gastronok

with that race/god you can probably get a little more utility out of glaive.
