How long does beastly appendage take to cast?

So I'm usually a pretty lazy transmuter, and don't cast much beastly appendage/sticks to snakes, but they're both very powerful spells I'm trying to use more of. When you cast beastly appendange, however, I've noticed monsters tend to get double moves, and yet the action timer still shows 1.0 turns for the action. What's going on? Does it perform two actions, and the turn timer only shows the second part of the time it took? Am I the victim of repeatedly consistent energy randomization? Or does appendage actually take ~20 auts?

AFAIK the only spell with a nonstandard cast time is Passwall. I think you're just getting unlucky with energy randomization.

It's because i was using a macro to cast BA. I had a macro bound to za. However, casting BA only requires you to use za and the extra . was causing me to wait 1 turn.

But, maybe you're smarter than I am and it's just something else happening that was mentioned above.

Good reason to use "za@" (or just "zaf" or "za!", since f-targeting is generally better than .-targeting anyway) instead of "za." for your macros.
