Setting Options While Playing

I recently returned to the game after about a year away and there's something I used to know and have apparently forgotten: how to set options in-game. I specifically want to change the auto-pickup option. I know that it's a string that contains characters that represent the various items in the game. What I can't remember is how to actually set the variable. Is there a key combo I need to use?

TIA

Well, you can't set that string you're describing in-game; you have to edit your rcfile for that. However, you can press \ to open the autopickup menu which lets you change things on the fly.

For this message the author ontoclasm has received thanks:

That's just what I was looking for! Thanks!
