+10 Int bow vs Enhancer staff: spell powah

How much +int does a weapon need to rival an enhancer staff for improving spell power? Does the answer depend on base int?

My complete guess would be more, much more than +10, but a) that guess could be completely wrong and b) the bow in question has other uses, such as firing arrows at distant mobs, and not being hexed.

You need to get at least +50% int for +int to match an enhancer for spellpower. So, +22 in your case.

Thanks crate, didn't realise enhancers were that good.

That would be a sweet bow indeed.

Actually, my Int is only 34 when I am not wielding my current bow, so I would 'only' need a +17 Int weapon to rival my staff of earth, right?

Hmmm, i think until I find iron shot or bolt of magna, I will nonetheless stick with the bow - or at least until I get out of Shoals and its horrible open spaces... Vaults is a lot more LRD friendly.

That bow is providing 75% of your MR. Depending on where you go, it may be more important than an enhancer staff

+10 int also gives fairly significant wizardry too though. (though a ring of wizardry is current miscast chance /2 is it's harder to make a direct comparison).

I would say keep the bow, that is a lot of nice MR and you get the before mentioned benefit of the lowered spell failure. You are also running up against the stepdown function for spellpower, so the enhancer boost would be reduced.

Yeah, I kept the bow - it was actually quite good at killdudes as well as everything else. Breezed through Elf, breezed through Vaults 1 and 2, then died unbelievably stupidly after a flayed ghost joined a Crypt entrance ambush vault. There is no level of character awesomeness that I can't kill off with carelessness apparently.

Did I target the flayed ghost with LRD when it appeared? No. Did I just burn a blink scroll back to the stairs to reset the fight? No. Did I decide when almost dead to LRD an ancient champion again instead of worrying about the Vampire Knight next to me. Yes.

Genius.
