The lessons I learned that got me through it were:
Don't sweat having min delay weapon so much.
The original spell-book for Sk really is quite good. Even without being able to learn Regeneration.
Infuse + Spectral weapon + smarter positioning makes for a much stronger character.
You can spend a TON of money on Gozag and still not get the gear you're looking for.
I didn't end up using my potion generation ability at all (maybe I used the free one once on accident due to my channeling macro).
Bribing the dungeon on your orb run out is pretty silly. Ancient liches and orb guardian pets for your run out are a bit OP.
