How good is recite?
useful even late game?

It can be useful even in late game. I never worshipped Zin early, but for example, Recite is really great in Tomb (turning 10 guardian mummies in salt statues in a row is fun)

I believe Recite works against almost everything that is not tagged as an animal. Correct me if I'm wrong. So yeah, it's pretty useful in late game.

It's not quite that broad, but it works against most of the worst stuff -- OOFs, undead, demons, "unholy" spellcasters. If anything, it gets more useful later in the game when "monster hits you with big club" and "monster shoots you with a crossbow" aren't your primary threats.

Recite is good early too, it scales nicely with monster HD and Invocations.

Recite is much better on a primarily melee character than on a spellcaster. You can move and attack in melee while reciting, however if you cast a spell it will cancel the recite early.

Zin is bad, don't take him unless you want to make the game harder than it needs to be and annoy yourself with a food conduct.

Zin is great. Status immunity and it's really tough to die if you remember that you have sanctuary. the food conduct is irrelevant. if you don't feel like fighting something annoying you just imprison it and keep going. recite is kind of flame bc it is unpredictable but who cares.

Recite every time you get into a fight and observe its wonders. At high invocation it can one-shot greater mummy and I think it could paralyze/confuse Pan lords as well.
