Ideal evo level for Nemelex?

Currently rolling Merfolk of Nemelex, doing Orc right now. Got evocation up to 10 now, but I think I should train more to get better card effects. Question is, how much? All the way up to 27 eventually?

Re: Ideal evo level for Nemelex?

You don't need a lot of evocations with Nemelex. Just get enough to use your abilities. Nem gives a huge bonus to your card power, so you don't need evo much.

Hmm. Guess it works like Mahkleb (raise around 12~14 so that you can reliably use summon greater demon). Thanks for the reply!

Re: Ideal evo level for Nemelex?

It's a pretty old fact, but I believe it was something like only needing 9 evo to get power level 2 effects every time from a legendary deck (with full piety). I'm not sure if that's changed recently, and you might want to train a bit more for power level 2 from non-legendary decks, etc etc. But yeah, it doesn't have to be terribly high. I'd say 10ish early, and 15 a bit later on. I don't have terribly much nemelex experience though, but I don't think 27 evo is critical.

Re: Ideal evo level for Nemelex?

I've never seen any reason not to keep training evo as high as 18-20 when playing nemelex guys. If you're like me and you constantly spam cards out of plain and ornate decks as ^nemelex, the extra evo has a perceptible impact on your card spam. Evocations is a pretty solid skill right now. Better summons from evokers + improved card power on bad decks makes it pretty good investment, imo.

Re: Ideal evo level for Nemelex?

Plain decks always have power level 0.
Ornate decks have power level 0 unless you pass an obscure evo+nem check, in which case they have power level 1.
Legendary decks start at power level 0, which may be upgraded to power level 1 if you pass an evo+nem check, and possibly again to power level 2 if you pass some other evo+nem check.

How good a card is depends on its power level (0, 1, or 2) and its power (deterministically derived from evo skill and nem piety, uncapped)
Is that how it works?

Many effects have a spell power which is based on card power.

Re: Ideal evo level for Nemelex?

Congratulations on rolling Merfolk. It feels sweet the few times you draw the Water card, if ever. Though there's not as much synergy between Merfolk and Nemelex as there used to be. :)
