Glove choice

I have two pairs of gloves available:
+1 pair of gloves of Temperance {rN++ Str+7 Slay-2}.
the +3 pair of gloves of Music {rC+}.

rC+ is already useless on this character, and I assume the +7 strength balances -2 slaying pretty well, so we're comparing 2 AC against rN++.

I Is rN++ worth 2 AC?

It depends on character. Do you have a dump?

Edit2. I would use rC+ before finding another amulet to replace warding, after that rN+ can be useful. Str+7 can improve EV also.

I was just recently lurking a thread where someone said that one point of slaying might be roughly equivalent to five points of strength. If that estimation holds true, you might be losing out a bit. I know you're asking really about the AC vs. rN, but I thought I would mention this.

1 slaying is roughly equal to 2 to 3 str, depending on the weapon you're using, from the last figures I saw.

You should be wearing the +3 gloves, no question. I would throw the other pair of gloves in lava or deep water in case the next player to take the account is bad and uses them.

+7 str will almost definitely improve your EV. If it doesn't, you should wear heavier body armor most likely(getting you more AC). So the +3 gloves aren't the no brainer duvessa's claiming.
If you get +2 ev, and the rC is definitely useless (Why is it useless to you?), then the +str gloves are better.

EDIT: After looking at your char, I'm almost positive the +7 str gloves are better. If they give you 2ev or better, use them, and find another amulet.

They give about 1 EV. Why would you take that over 2 AC?

OP character had AC 50/EV 11. +EV 1 is more useful than +AC 2 for it IMHO

Well, 2 ac + a second pip of RC vs 1 EV + 2 pips of RN + a tiny damage boost + big spell success boost

It's not totally clear cut, I assumed he'd get at least 2 ev. If the spell success boost is useful, the str gloves are still probably better. If that doesn't matter, it's a tough call, I'd probably end up taking the +3 ac gloves because I like big numbers for my AC.
