What are good targets for a Wand of Enslavement?

This wand is highly spoken of but I don't use it very much. Please list your favorite targets for this wand at various stages of the game, along with the Evocs level you feel is appropriate for that target. The wiki suggests that it is useful even into the endgame for what that's worth.

Ahh, set poisoning monsters on poison-vulnerable ones! That ought to work in Spider, too.

I use it on packs usually: bees, yaks, deep trolls. It's great in lair branches, you enslave merfolk impaler and he kills most of his band or dies. Enslavement OP, I can see why spell was removed.

Inner flame an orc in Orc, then charm him and tell him to fight.

Works great on "specialist" monsters in groups. So in early game, could be the orc priest, or orc knight in the middle of a massive army of orcs. In mid-game, maybe a merfolk aquamancer or deep troll shaman...well, you get the picture. Basically to turn a high-threat monster from a group into an ally instead of an enemy. Particularly good for eliminating an enemy who'd normally be trouble. So if you're a melee fighter, something like an orb spider, that stays at range, can be a good target. If you're not a high-health character, it can be great for taking down the smiting, tormenting, hellfiring enemies, for example.

I don't usually come close to maxing out Evocations, so I usually focus on enslavement for early-game threats, like orc priests.

Don't use if following certain gods.
