Oka and amulet of faith

Wearing and amulet of faith and gifts come a lot faster. However, it seems like its less useful than usual. Im focusing M&F, have 18 skill, using a great mace. Oka has given me 3 quarterstaves, a bardiche, and a triple sword. Im curious if wearing the amulet reduces the usefulness of the gifts or if its just bad luck?

Last Oka game:
"Hmm, I see you are using a +2 longbow of frost. Here's another one!"

Eventually he shaped up and gave me a +2 artifact great mace (vamp dex+3). Was using +0 freeze great mace. Ended up going with the vamp, first time I ever really used it on a two hander. Pretty much strolled through snake pit without a second thought.

My last Oka win (well TSO win; but I was Oka for the first 5 runes). Gifts included:

+4 Broad Axe (Flaming) [Which became my +9 Broad Axe of Holy Wrath for Extended.]
+2 Broad Axe {Vamp, rC++, Int+3, Stealth-}
+11 War Axe {Chopping, Dex+9}
+14 CPA {Int+2}
+1 Boots of Running
The Boots of the Assassin (I kept running anyways)
+2 Gloves of Strength
+2 Gloves of Dexterity
+3 Large Shield of Protection

...I think of it like Sif; constant ?acquirement; some are bad, some are awesome, most are usable. Early on may be all trash; but pays out well by 2nd or 3rd rune; good god for extended (though you switch out of Oka usually; while most Sif characters never leave Sif.)

Noisy Fighter in a CPA. Boots of Assassin didn't feel like they'd do much good

I cannot imagine characters where I would use boots of assassin instead of ones of running. Except in zigs.
