If I use Sunlight (Fedhas ability) to try to get rid of some of the water in Shoals, will the water just come back when the tides change?

I used Sunlight on a 0.16 character without flight to dry up deep water between islands. I don't remember if a 3x3 stayed perfectly dry, but while I was on the level I didn't have to come back and reapply Sunlight.
