Possible ways to 100% block LOF

I'm drawing a blank here, what are the 100% guaranteed ways to block the malmutate beams of shining eye/Neqoxec and the like within 10 auts?
The ones I can think of are scroll of fog/summon lightning spire, maybe summon butterflies in a corridor.

Edit:
LOF is a better term indeed,
+forgot a really obvious one: fulminant prism

Pale Draconian breath blocks it too.
Getting hit hard as a Dith worshipper
Wearing the cloak of the Thief and evoking it.

Against shining eyes walking away works too but most of the time you just want something ranged to kill them fast

Fog definitely isn't 100% guaranteed.

It's overkill, but the Tomb card should do it.

Killing them is my preferred method.

You don't need to block LOS, just LOF.

Allies are good for this.

Re: Possible ways to 100% block LOS

100% guarantees are few and far between in crawl. But since you, by definition, have LOS on the mutator, having a strong ranged attack should kill it in 1-2 tries most of the time. Javelins work pretty well with only ~10 throwing, too. Portal projectile if you want to also hit one after a monster is blocking LOS, or learn the spell airstrike - smite targeted, level 4, does decent enough damage to kill neqoxec's/giant eyeballs/shining eyes. Cacodemons might be take a few more hits. I usually go the throwing route, but any ranged attack including conjurations are of course fine, if you have decent magic skills.

Don't forget the Lantern of Shadows! Even works for Ru worshipers who have sacrificed Evo!

Mine, too, but for some chars they are a right pain in the ass. Didn't play ranged since the revamp but I remember eyes often surviving one hit and getting in a malmutate in return.
Same with thrown weapons, the wild damage variance is just too unreliable without portal projectile and something to block.

Last char had Orb of destruction, glaciate and LCS. There was an annoying point beyond glaciate/LCS range where ood takes 2 turns to arrive and eyes could still stare at me(stepping back just delays having to deal with them).
I remembered high powered butterflies completely surrounding a char, but apparently I was wrong. Took 2 malmutates right after summoning(bounced off rMut, but still).

The tomb card can go and do what it does best on a wheelbarrow full of tiny monkeys. Killed me just yesterday(ok not exactly the only reason + I should know better than to take anything on the wiki at face value).

In my recent fedhas win I learned that growing plants is a great way to block lof and melee attacks. lt saved my ass a couple times in z:5, while waiting for a teleport. That's not as good as fog or darkness, but it's a decent last resort.

It doesn't actually make walls on all sides (and will disappear in like 2 actions) if your card power is bad. It remains super broken with good power though.

Had 19 evocations and drawn from an ornate deck. I guess it was just a super bad roll.
