Hat of Pondering and Chei

With the hat on it says "Your movement speed is very slow". With the hat off it still says "Your movement speed is very slow". Am I really the same speed either way?

I'm at 6 * piety if that matters...could it be a speed breakpoint at lower piety levels?

Would you wear it if you were worshipping Chei already?

No, you're not the same speed. Next to the "turn counter" (which is actually a time counter) there should be a number in parentheses, which is the number of aut taken by your last action, divided by 10. So it will usually say (2.0), or 20 aut, for moving as a max-piety Chei human. If you add hat of pondering to that, you'll usually take 21 aut to move, and it will say (2.1). Ponderous adds 1 aut to your movement delay.
