Scroll of Brand Weapon

I was reading some unidentified scrolls and I came across a Scroll of Brand Weapon.

I'm not sure, but my Demon Blade of Flaming seems as though it is already branded.. If I used the scroll would it change the brand?? Perhaps I should just cancel using the scroll.. I don't want to lose the Flaming property for something useless...

I already checked the CrawlWiki and the Scroll of Brand Weapon is not included.

It's a gamble, the question is, are you willing to take one? Flaming is a good brand, but it's not the best brand.

Edit: I think vorpal chances are a bit higher now.

How far are you into the game?

If you're around say Vaults, you'll find plenny more demon blades, many of them branded.

If its early though you might end up with venom or something sad. But you might also end up with elec. (Its a gamble.)

Make sure you have backups in case of disappointment!

vaults almost never has demon blades though
depths might have one but it's not terribly likely after they reduced the frequency on hell knights
might as well brand it, it cant get much worse but it can get a lot better

Venom is the strongest early game, though.
