Draining

Does using a draining branded weapon still make you get less experience? I know it did in earlier versions. How much of a consideration should the experience loss (if there is any) have on weapon choice? Does having the draining brand make a weapon more desirable, or less?

Yes but very little. The experience loss is of no concern. Draining is better than no brand.

It's near useless in pan/crypt/tomb/hell but unless you go there it's a useful brand.

By the way, even if drain brand had included a XP loss, that would not have been a reason not to use it...

XP should almost never matter in Crawl choices (famous last words : I should really try to kill that player ghost, he's worth a lot of XP...)
