merfolk drowning by paralysis?

Quick question. I'm about to go up against rupert and I'm thinking of polearming him from a distance. Do I drown as a merfolk if I get paralzed in deep water?

There used to be a bug with merfolk where you could drown by having flight and being porkolated by kirke and letting the flight end.
