I love new Scroll of Immolation so much.

So I was in D:12 with an armored Orc Fighter of the new weather god Qazlal, and encountered a gigantic pack of like three dozen Orcs and Yaks, right? And on-hand I happened to have a spare Scroll of Immolation-- the NEW kind, which casts Inner Flame on everything in sight...

Was pretty potent.

I did that once with loads of drakes/dragons in a surprise room on elf 3 or 2 I believe. I don't think you get credit for the kills though because I saw no "X appreciates your kill"

When I discovered this change I was in snake5 in the middle of the ambush. I just wanted to finish off the ones next to me so I could go back upstairs. I read the scroll. They all got inner fired. One of them was standing in a flame cloud and died. Before I got another turn ~20 nagas had died, and I had lost ~150hp.

Was a messy learning experience.

Was a messy learning experience.

I had a promising character die to Scroll of Immolation when it cascaded a 20 mton explosion across my pets and all the enemies in sight. It was spectacular but lethal. I can't imagine how the character in the screen shot above managed to avoid all that.

Immolation followed by shatter immediately upon entering Vaults 5 is one of the more entertaining things I've ever done in crawl. It's also a ton of fun on The Royal Jelly, especially if you use a scroll of torment first.
