I went in and it was one of those vaults that has some rats and an orc warrior with a moth of wrath in a cage. My character couldn't handle a zerked warrior, so I left. Didn't look like there was anything in there of use to me.

I think it's what it is - a timed altar. My character got one with Sif altar, 2 brilliance pots, orc wizard and Blork. I already had a god, but brilliance potions were useful.
