Labyrinth -- how much food is needed?

Are 5 meat, 2 bread + engorged enough?

I don't know if I've ever eaten more than one ration in a labyrinth.

Depends on how terrible you are at keeping track of your position and how capable you are of taking out or avoiding a minotaur.

2 breads at most.

They're actually pretty easy to navigate with the rock/stone/metal wall signifiers. At least a little bit of permafood.

took about 3 minutes, went from Engorged to Very Full. Minotaur had a +9 rod of smiting, made me drink a potion. Nothing else I could use although I took the latjang of venom for my stash.

sometimes its quick, sometimes there isn't an actual route so you need to wait for things to move around, but moving around doesn't take much time in turns, so you rarely need to eat. Just the standard amount of food you have will always be enough.

No, there is always a path to the exit from your current position at any given time.

Even with the teleport trap one? It seemed like I hit it one time and got into a stubbed passageway.

I ended up using a teleport scroll, getting to the part of the lab that I recognised again, and making my way easily to the end (for the third time... yay teleport vault).

I had a nasty labyrinth that took my spriggan from very full to normal satiation. A few rations for normal metabolism is usually enough if you know how to navigate it, but occasionally you get one hell of a nasty maze that forces you to run in spirals.

Results may vary depending on metabolic rate. :)

I heard someone mention that bringing a pile of stones to a labyrinth helps, a la Hansel and Gretl. So, maybe it's 2 rations or 1 ration + 20 stones.

Amateurs note: This stone thing does not work in The Abyss.
