is it worth it switching to shield+ whip against former lthe -1,+7 great mace of the Wheel (weapon) {drain, -Cast Str+2 Int+4} (i know its offtopic

Even as a big fan of shields I can tell you that the great mace you have there is better than that demon whip. (at least while it's +7,+1)

It's very possible that an orc or something picked it up and is wandering around with it, and you just haven't caught them yet.

Go make your demon whip +9 and make those casters cry.

Remember you can use Shift-X and then Ctrl-F to forget the level, and then Autoexplore to do high speed re-exploration looking for what might be a wandering mob with your whip. Visit all staircases to make sure there's no cordoned off areas that could be missed. And if all else fails, explore all 3 levels fully and then Ctrl-F "god gift."
