Spriggans are fragile. Elephant slugs are not. So even though you can stab that sleeping elephant slug, it's probably not worth the risk.

Elephant slugs are also really slow and lack a ranged attack, so even if they do wake up a Spriggan can outrun them easily

Assuming, of course, said spriggan survives the free hit it gets when it survives being stabbed.

Re: I think we learned an important lesson today.

If you are in Pandemonium and you find a ziggurat, and then in the zig you get banished to the abyss, when you escape the abyss, you are returned to the dungeon.

This is significant because if you left a bunch of loot outside the zig entrance in Pan, it's ALL GONE!!!!

Mostly it was a bunch of potions and scrolls that I won't really miss, but still, that kinda burned. I can't help but feel that there was something I'll miss.

In Trunk, when you get banished to the abyss from a zig (or, in fact, almost anywhere), you return to the same point you left.

If you use-ID a potion of experience, don't just keep hitting space or you'll get a bunch of levels in skills you don't want.

Especially when your are worshipping Trog. You´ll lose piety through learning magic skills.

I want to add a similar note regarding the Sage card. If you draw Sage from a deck while draw-IDing it, stop killing if you are worshipper of Trog.

But why would you draw id a deck as a troglodyte? It's a good way to permanently screw your your char.

Agreed. ?identify is quite common and using a couple won't ruin your game, however even just one shuffle card can permanently harm your char.

One of the silliest mistakes I ever made was blind drawing a deck like that. "Oh, I know it's not generally recommended, but what are the odds that this deck will immediately give me Shuffle?" Guess what happened.

Also, to expand on my last lesson, I just now realized that I have a ghost in Vault 6 running around with a highly enchanted electric demon trident and is fully capable of casting Orb of Destruction and Ice Storm (well, my success was still at 50% for the latter, but the ghost won't care). I'm going to regret that death.

You can place things directly on top of the Orb in Orb Defense mode.

Also, those "grenades" you make can hurt your Oklobs.

(And not everything wants to aggro you on sight, despite how classic works. Their priority is the Orb, so they'll walk by you unless you're obstructing them.)

A pacified monster can still choose to beat the crap out of you if you start resting.

Bonus points if it's this particular monster with this particular weapon.

 30898 | Spider:1 | Noticed Agnes
 30901 | Spider:1 | Pacified Agnes
 30901 | Spider:1 | Reached skill level 9 in Traps & Doors
 30907 | Spider:1 | HP: 4/101 [Agnes/lajatang of electrocution (24)]
 30909 | Spider:1 | Mangled by Agnes

The above works. You just have to remember that there's something dangerous to look for. Annotating the dangerous level with an exclamation point in the note will prompt you when you try to take stairs to that level.
