Manuals

I've seen so few manuals throughout my time playing this game, (although i've only got 1 3-rune win under my belt, and i'm sure they show up more in the post-endgame) Are they just really that rare. I think it would be nice to have a few more show up in the late dungeon levels / Rune levels. So far I found a manual of long blades in a shop, a manual of dodging i forget where, and on my current run 2 manuals of ice magic side by side at the end of an ice cave portal.

Re: Manuals

They are quite rare. You'll have games where you find none, and games where you find half a dozen. Most of the ones I've found are in high-level treasure vaults like Elf:5 or Vault:8, or in treasure troves or labyrinths.

Re: Manuals

Book acquirement gives manuals fairly often (and I think it also tries to make them manuals for skills you have already trained to some degree).

For this message the author crate has received thanks:

Re: Manuals

Oh I didn't know this crate. It might be because I've NEVER used book acquirement before... :P Something else about acquirement, If you're a Fedhas worshipper the Food choice becomes Fruit instead (I got 15 bananas that one time I used acquirement in this way).

And if you're a Ashenzari worshipper, your acquired food will be cursed for no apparent reason. :D

Re: Manuals

What exactly do manuals do in the new exp system?
