It's hard to see, but if you look closely, there are two ways in:

If you don't have a source of blinks or -Tele to pass over the teleport trap, you can always walk over it repeatedly until it teleports you inside.

Big risk, but you only need to trigger the teleport trap once.

I think that's a permanent teleport trap actually.

You can try to lure stuff out, that will help. Are there any -Tele items in the game? Those can be very useful in Zot:5.

You can also risk standing next to the teleport trap and use a regular blink spell a few times to get to the other side of it. Personally, with a permanent teleport trap blocking one entrance to the orb, I'd probably walk up to it, make a crap ton of noise, then head back to the stairs and thin the level out a bit. Enemies will walk into that trap and be easier targets outside of that area.

it is a permanent teleport trap.

Will the Zot trap disappear if I trigger it?

No, they're also permanent.
Faced with this choice, I'd take the Zot trap over the teleport trap. If things get really bad really quickly, read fog and run for it.
There is always something new to learn.

But luring enemies over a teleport trap will disperse them, whereas luring enemies over a zot trap will harm you, with effects like contam->mutations, I think.
I agree that stepping on the zot trap is less bad than stepping on the teleport trap.

You could also id all the artifact weapon is your game. You might find one with -tele. Before clearing it, I would try to lure out as much of a lung as possible by shouting.

Re: Zot:5 - no way in to chamber?

Shouting near the teleport helps, but if you have access to a very noisy spell, I'd say the louder the better in this case. Nothing can actually follow you, although a few monsters might randomly be teleported to near where you are. Waking up as much as possible is optimal. Fireball, lightning bolt, etc can be fairly easily cast. Shatter or firestorm aren't super easy, but hey, if you've got them...

I know OOD's colliding is super loud but I'm not sure if you can collide them intentionally with no monster target to aim at.
