Yes, no, maybe? Post a character dump if you want advice. For all we know, you are an OgBe...

That said, its a great stabbers weapon. If you arent geared to stab, switching could be prohibitively costly.. and then there is the wrath.

You could probably stab a monster with it once in a while, if you really want. I'm sure Dith will understand. To be serious, if you just use it rarely it will either just reduce your piety a bit or you will be under penance that will be lifted quickly if you kill some monsters.

No. You'll probably get a better short blade in the course of the game anyway (e.g. an electrocution dagger).

This weapon is not that great (unless you need rF+ while retreating from a Fire Drake).

I thought the stealth++ was pretty good. Then again I'm already uncannily stealthy.

I wouldn't--for melee, you can probably get a heavier short blade that will be at least as good. And for stabbing you don't need all those pluses.

Pretty impressive anyway.

You could probably stab some tough unique with this dagger. Like tiamat :) What Are you planning to do with all those hexes?.. I'm fine with the idea of imbalanced characters, because I do that myself, but at least train 6-9 fighting and dodging and that would be cheaper than learning a level of hexes.

Crawl really needs to show some numbers. I am sure no one would keep training Hexes at skill level 20+, if they could see something like "You are going to spend 20.000 skill points to increase spell power for Confusion by 1%. You can get +40 HP or +10 EV or +8 AC for the same skill points. Continue training Hexes? (y/N).

PS. Numbers are not accurate, just to show the idea.

I actually managed to sneak up to him for a stab!

BUT HE SURVIVED! HE WAS *ALMOST* DEAD!

Then I remembered I was wielding a +4 orcish dagger, and even +1000% damage on a +4 doesn't do 150 HPs all da time.

This was calculated from the Wiki's skill page, so I hope the values are correct. However, this does not reflect the actual experience points needed, because
